You've heard about Remedial Massage - But what is it?
Remedial massage is a hands-on treatment therapy designed to aid musculoskeletal dysfunction through various manual techniques targeting muscles and tendons.
It aims to ease tension and/or tightness through muscles and tendons by targeting specific trigger points in the belly of the muscles or specific areas of the muscle tendons to decrease pain and discomfort and increase joint mobility and function for patients.
With remedial massage, increasing blood flow through the muscles will assist in the healing process of muscular injuries and is commonly used alongside other allied health treatment modalities such as physiotherapy and exercise physiology in an overall successful treatment plan.
Massage treatments are carried out by qualified therapists with a qualification specific to Remedial Massage where they have obtained extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology to best treat all presentations of musculoskeletal injuries and discomfort.
